How do photochromic lenses work?
The EVO+ lens contains photoreactive molecules integrated directly into the polycarbonate. These molecules change structure in the presence of UV rays: they darken. When UV exposure decreases, they return to their original form and the lens becomes clear again.
A reactive, automatic system. No batteries, no switches.
How long does the adaptation take?
The transition to the dark tint takes approximately 30 seconds when exposed to UV light. The return to the clear tint is more gradual, taking about two to three minutes depending on the ambient temperature. In cold weather, the lens darkens faster and remains dark longer.
In practice, the transition is continuous. You won't perceive a break between the two states once in motion.
